On Terms

The rules for this website, the Arcade, and The Assembly Line newsletter. Each game the studio publishes has its own terms on its own site.

— Effective July 28, 2026 · Last updated July 28, 2026 —

Manu Games LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company, operating from North Carolina, USA. These Terms govern three things: the Website at manugames.com, the Arcade (the free browser games at /arcade), and The Assembly Line newsletter at blog.manugames.com.

They do not govern the studio's published games. Tideward is a paid app distributed through Apple's App Store under Apple's licence terms plus its own supplementary terms at tideward.app/terms. If you are looking for the rules that apply to a game you bought, that is where they live.

How personal data is handled across these same surfaces is described separately, in the Privacy Policy.

Accepting these Terms

By using the Website, playing an Arcade game, or subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them. That is the whole of it; there is no account to create and nothing to sign.

The Arcade

The Arcade is a catalogue of free browser games. They are free in the ordinary sense: no purchase, no subscription, no advertising, no in-game currency, and nothing to buy inside any of them.

  • They run on your device. Solo play is entirely local. Saves, streaks, and settings live in your browser's storage and never leave it.
  • Live features are optional. Some games offer public leaderboards, rated multiplayer tables, and slow correspondence tables. You join those only by choosing a display name. What is stored, and how to delete it instantly, is described in the Privacy Policy and shown to you on the Keeper's Ledger.
  • Pick a display name others can live with. We may remove or refuse to display a name that is harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, impersonating someone, or otherwise plainly unsuitable, and we may remove scores obtained by manipulating a game rather than playing it.
  • Play fair. Don't use bots, scripts, or modified clients against the shared boards, and don't attack the service or other players' sessions. Leaderboards only mean anything if the scores on them are real.
  • They may change or disappear. Arcade games are made for fun and are not a service you have paid for. Any of them may be updated, replaced, or retired, and boards may be reset. Nothing in the Arcade is a durable possession.

The newsletter

The Assembly Line is a free email newsletter about factory and idle games, delivered through Beehiiv. Subscribing is entirely opt-in and unsubscribing is one click in the footer of any issue. We do not sell, rent, or share the list.

Issues are written for readers, not for republication. You are welcome to quote a passage with attribution and a link, forward an issue to someone who would enjoy it, or share it on social media. Please don't republish whole issues, mirror the archive, or feed the newsletter to a service that reproduces it as its own content.

What belongs to whom

The studio retains the rights it holds in this website, the Arcade games, the newsletter archive, the Manu Games name and marks, and the artwork and code behind them, and reserves every right not expressly granted here.

Where some artwork was produced with AI image-generation tools and finished by hand, jurisdictions differ on the protection available to that material, and nothing above is a claim that every individual asset carries copyright everywhere. We would rather describe what we own accurately than overclaim it. Your high score is your own business.

Links out

These surfaces link to services the studio does not control, including Apple's App Store, Beehiiv, Discord, X, and YouTube. Once you follow a link, that service's terms and privacy practices apply, not ours.

No warranty

The Website, the Arcade, and the newsletter are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent applicable law allows. They are free things made by a one-person studio. They may go down, contain bugs, or stop existing.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent applicable law allows, Manu Games LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from these free surfaces, and its total liability relating to them is limited to the amount you paid for them, which is nothing.

This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, and does not apply to any paid product. Liability for Tideward is addressed in its own terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, and the state and federal courts of North Carolina are the ordinary venue for disputes about them.

Except where your own law says otherwise. If you use these surfaces as a consumer somewhere whose law gives you rights that cannot be limited by agreement (including the right to bring proceedings where you live), this section does not take those rights away from you, and the mandatory rules of your country of residence prevail over anything written here.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when practices change, when statute requires, or when the wording can be improved. The Effective Date and Last Updated stamps at the top will move forward.
