Cruxsmith

The technical partner a small business does not have on staff.

— the smith's mark —

The other table.

Most of what the studio makes is meant to be lived with slowly. Cruxsmith is the other table: the same hands, hired out. It is Manu Games LLC's software and search practice — the technical partner a small business does not keep on staff.

Websites, search presence, custom software, and the quiet infrastructure underneath, built and kept as one system rather than handed off in pieces. Most agencies stop at the website. Cruxsmith builds what runs beneath it — the lead pipelines, the booking, the automations, the dashboards — because the engineer and the designer are the same person.

It keeps its own house at cruxsmith.com, with its own marks and its own door. What follows is only an introduction, and two of the tools the studio built for itself first.

The tools, built for ourselves first Two instruments

The client cockpit In service

Sextant

Every client's results, pulled, assembled, and sent on a schedule.

Sextant pulls each client's search, local, and analytics figures on a schedule, assembles them into an on-brand monthly report, and sends it — then keeps watch on the site between reports and raises a flag the moment something breaks. It runs on Cloudflare, and it is the proof of the promise: the studio runs its own work on the systems it builds for others.

The counting house In service

Indenture

The studio's own invoicing and year-end ledger.

Indenture is Manu Games LLC's own invoicing and year-end ledger — a native Mac app with a wax-seal hand, built with zero third-party dependencies. The studio ran its own business through its own process before asking anyone else to. Cruxsmith wrote it up as a build story.

The What network Local guides, built and run

Cruxsmith builds and runs its own network of local area guides — the working model of the local search presence it builds for clients. Each one answers a single question for a place: what is there to do here?

Franklin & the Nantahala, NC Live

FranklinWhat

A local's events calendar and area guide, built fully in English and Spanish. It pulls from more than thirty local sources twice a day and still works when the cell signal drops.

Knoxville, TN Live

KnoxWhat

The same engine carried to Knoxville: a fast, current answer to what is happening in town, on the same twice-a-day local feed.

FranklinWhat and KnoxWhat are live, with the Tri-Cities of East Tennessee next.
