How to play

You each throw two cards to the crib, which scores for the dealer, then a starter is cut. In the pegging, play cards in turn without the count passing thirty-one, scoring for fifteens, pairs, runs, and the last card. Then the show is counted in strict order: non-dealer, dealer, then the crib. The game ends the instant a peg crosses a hundred and twenty-one.

Tips

Keep fifteens, pairs, and runs together, and starve the crib when it is your opponent’s deal. In the pegging, avoid leaving the count where they can pair or run onto it.
