Euchre is the great trump-making partnership game, with the Drover at your side against the Tinker and the Reeve. Order it up, mind the bowers, and take three tricks for the point. Play solo or live at the open tables, free in your browser, no ads, no sign-up.

How to play

You each get five cards from a twenty-four card deck and the twenty-first turns up. In the first round you may order up its suit as trump; if all pass, the second round names any other suit, and the dealer must name if it comes round to them. The jack of trump is the right bower and rules the night, the same-colour jack rides second. Three tricks make the point, all five a march for two, a lone march four, and a maker held under three is euchred.

Tips

Both bowers plus an ace is a callable hand; going alone with a near-lock pays double. As the maker, lead trump to strip the defense of its ruffs.
