Crazy Eights is the shedding card game the boxed ones descend from, two-handed against the Fiddler. Match the suit or rank, or drop an eight to swing the suit, and be first to empty your hand. Play solo or live at the open tables, free in your browser, no ads, no sign-up.

How to play

You each hold seven cards and one turns up to start the pile. Play a card matching the top card’s suit or rank, or play an eight, which answers anything and names the suit to follow. Nothing to play? Draw from the stock until something fits. First to shed their hand wins, and an eight caught in hand counts fifty against you.

Tips

Save an eight for when you are stuck or to swing the suit away from your opponent’s strength, but never be the one holding it at the end. Shed high cards early in case the hand goes to a count.
