About Doublet
Doublet is Lewis Carroll’s parlour game of 1879, kept nightly: turn the top word into the bottom one, changing a single letter at each rung, and every rung a true word. Free in your browser, no ads, no sign-up.
How to play
Change one letter at a time to climb from the top word to the bottom, and each rung must be a real word. HEAD becomes HEAL, HEAL becomes TEAL, and so the ladder descends. Par is the shortest ladder the whole dictionary allows; match it for a flawless night.

Tips
Work from both ends toward the middle, since the target word suggests its own near neighbours. When stuck, change the letter that opens the most possible words, and ask the tailor only if you must.
