About Sternhalma
Sternhalma is the game the world calls chinese checkers, and it is neither Chinese nor checkers: it is halma’s law on the six-point star, born in Germany in 1892. Ten pegs a side march point to opposite point against the Pilgrim: one step, or a chain of hops over any peg, nothing ever captured. First to fill the far point wins. Play solo, or take a seat at a live, rated table. Free in your browser, no ads, no sign-up.
How to play
Tap a peg to see everywhere it can go: one step to an adjacent empty cell, or a chain of hops, each over an adjacent peg to the empty cell just beyond, turning as it pleases. Fill all ten cells of the far point to win outright; a game past three hundred moves is reckoned by pegs home, then by ground gained.

Tips
Ladders win the game: pegs spaced one apart carry each other the length of the star in a single turn. Keep to the axis, move the straggler with the column, and fill the far point from the tip inward lest your own pegs block the door.
