Tap a soul once for speaks true, twice for forsworn. Then pronounce with the scales.

About Forsworn

Forsworn is the liars’ puzzle in the old style, a knights-and-knaves logic riddle: five souls in the taproom, one line apiece, and exactly one marking of the five fits every word. Free in your browser, no ads, no sign-up.

How to play

Each soul is either true of tongue, who never lie, or forsworn, who never speak true. Read the five statements against one another: if a soul speaks true, all they say holds; if forsworn, all they say is false, which tells you just as much. Mark every tongue, then pronounce.

Tips

Assume one soul’s kind and follow the chain of consequences; a contradiction proves you assumed the opposite. Exactly one marking fits every statement, so keep testing until nothing quarrels.
